So in the last couple of weeks I took a canning challenge that I have been talking about for years. First, I made some fruit butter which I have basically been going gaga over. I have plans to make more – maybe involving peaches and sriracha. We will see! Fortunately I totally stocked up on mason jars at the Brooklyn Kitchen. I also decided to take a shot at quick pickling for My Fitness Pal. I have to say – I was seriously shocked at how easy this is. I don’t know why I’ve been putting it off for so long!
The truth is, pickling is one of the best, non-sweet ways to preserve food. Though so far I have only done the “quick versions”, I’m definitely getting braver to experiment with real pickling and preserving!
