So, now that I have the dress taken care of, venue long booked, flowers well under way… It’s time to start thinking about the little details! Up first? Bridal beauty!
I kind of have to put a hold on my hair – since my usual stylist (who is the only one I will let touch my hair) is having a baby this month. But that still gives me plenty of time to think about makeup! I definitely, absolutely want a natural look. I love playing with makeup and vamping it up, but most of the time I wear little to no makeup. And supposedly, that’s how Joe prefers it! So for my wedding day, I don’t want to rock any crazy looks. I want to look super natural – you know the look – it’s as if you don’t have any make up on, but you really do because you’d never look that good without make up.
As I’ve been interviewing makeup artists, and prepping for my beauty trial, I’ve also been experimenting on my own. One of the things I found that I’m addicted to? Is Burt’s Bee’s lip crayons. I first discovered them during my work event during fashion week, and I’m pretty addicted. In another non-bridal beauty round-up I’ll tell you about my other fave crayon colors, but in terms of bridal beauty? Hawaiian Smoulder is where it’s at. Now, I know the make-up artist is going to make me as pretty as she can – but after eating and drinking, some of that lip color will come off. I love how fun this pink is, and think it would be a great, fun pop of color to add throughout the night. Plus the crayon is tiny and will fit in whatever miniature purse I decide to carry that night.
