My hair is currently a train wreck.
I always wear my helmut, and since I naturally have oily hair, my scalp gets greasy, quickly. But I also like wearing my pony tail hanging out of my jacket and helmut. I like people to know that the short person flying past them isn’t a boy – it’s a girl! However the wind, subfreezing temperatures and knots that form are brutal on the ends. So in short, I have very combination hair. It’s not pretty.
What to do? DIY Hair Mask!
The best thing about this mask is that you probably have everything you need for it your kitchen. It’s best for combination hair (oily at the roots, dry at the ends).
There are 4 simple, all natural ingredients, and they all benefit combination hair:
Strawberries: Regulate your scalp’s production of oil.
Baking Soda: Removes product, grease and dirt from your hair
Avocado: Moisturizes your hair, from root to tip.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Eliminates dullness in your hair, and rinses the dirt and grease away.
Sounds good, right? Heres what you do:
1 tablespoon Baking Soda
1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
In a blender, or a mini food processor, mix strawberries, avocado and baking soda until smooth. Add apple cider vinegar and blender (it will foam).
Put on your hair, starting roots and spread it to the ends. (I Have long hair and this covered all my hair).
Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse out. Wash hair as usual.
