So, apparently it’s breakfast week up in here, and I didn’t notice. First a breakfast loaf, then pancakes and now waffles. But since breakfast is probably my favorite meal after dessert (that’s a meal, right?), I’m all… #sorrynotsorry. Also, I hate myself for typing that right now, but I’ve been dying to use that expression since I first saw it, so we all just need humor me for a moment. Ok, moment over, back to these fantastic waffles!
So when Frozen Guru offered to send me a box of their vegan, flour free blueberry waffles to try and review, I was super excited. First of all, I love waffles. I grew up devouring frozen waffles (that were completely drowned in syrup, shocking I know) – but I just don’t eat them anymore. Not because of any love lost, but those waffles in the freezer section just turn me off. There is nothing of any nutritional value in them and they are super processed. But these blueberry waffles were low in calories, had no preservatives, animal products or flours. Bonus: they have a solid serving of fiber and are super duper low in sugar. Sooo, basically they were everything I’d ever want in a frozen breakfast food. And in order to get out in early in the morning for skiing (or work, when I finally find a job) I like quick breakfast foods.
I also like my breakfast foods to taste good – and these did not disappoint. I heated them up in the microwave, because I’m a weirdo who likes their waffles warm and soft, but they also toasted up great in my little toaster oven. So good. They had a sweet blueberry taste with out being sugary, and I had them with both a drizzle of maple syrup and a homemade blueberry compote. They were yummy both ways.
Basically, I can not say enough awesome things about these waffles. And, if you are not following an exclusively plant based diet they have other awesome flavors for you to try too!
So, without further ado, here is the giveaway!
